The Saturday Market
The daffodils have sprung from the ground, the trees are blossoming, and Ganges burst into life over Easter weekend, with the first Saturday market of the year.
A few minutes walk from Mariner’s Loft, the famous Salt Spring Market boasts an array of artisan products and delectable goods. You’ll find everything from jewellery to kale chips, from goats cheese to glassware, from clothing to wooden toys, and the list goes on. Expect a high standard of quality, specialty items, all produced on Salt Spring. That’s right, the market is composed entirely of locally made products:
A stroll around the market is an experience for the senses, with flavours and styles to suit every taste. Over 140 islanders will greet you with a smile, and tempt you with the fruits of their love and expertise. Prepare to be inspired: This weekly happening is a quite the display of health, vitality and joy.
Located in the centre of Ganges, the market is also a social hub; a wonderful opportunity to connect with Salt Spring, as well as to find that perfect gift or souvenir.
When and Where
The market will run every Saturday until the end of October. approximate 8:00 / 9:00am start, and 4:00pm close. Downtown Ganges, nested between the Centennial park and the water.

On Saturday April 9th, the Japanese Garden Society of Salt Spring Island will host their 6th annual blossom picnic:

Opening with a film night on Friday, 22nd, this very special event offers keynotes, workshops and networking. “Learn the latest on the Community Solar movement as well as energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for home, business and transportation in over 15 presentations and workshops”
